Peugeot answer to the E30 M3

Saw this on Craigslist, Peugeot is forgotten here in the US market since they pulled out in 1991.

    The Peugeot 405Mi16 was Peugeot's answer to the E30 M3 and Mercedes 190E 2.3-16.
Here is what Automobile magazine had to say about the Peugeot 405Mi16

I'm guessing securing parts would be a challenge for this car.

But yes these cars are fun to drive. Built like shit though.
Swap the 4 for a 5 and you're in business.

These were never imported here, and how is this even remotely close to a 190e, let alone an e30 m3
Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

It would technically be in the same class of car, i agree though, its lacking 50hp.

Huge fun to drive, surprisingly quick. Early 1.9 was better to drive than later 2.0s, but the 2.0s had FAR FAR FAR better build quality and nicer interiors.

My father has a couple of Mi16s. They're only worth chicken feed out here these days.

                        That is a 406. Not a 405.

PS: that is the original Taxi movie which was awesome in the same way The Transporter is awesome. The Queen Latifah effort should have all copies collected and burnt.

Bullshit. Peugeot never meant to compete with M3 and still don't today.
Though there was a 405 T16 4x4 version, which was 100x better than the Mi16 and that much harder to maintain.

But their motorsports cars were always great, still are. Mainly rally though.
The 205 T16 was one of, if not the best car in the Group B rally.

Yeah, I figured close enough though. And you might as well do that for all her movies while at it.

                              Yes and no.
We got the shittier version of the car, as expected.

The one to get was either T-16 (rare as unicorns), and the more popular, but highly capable 405 Mi-16x4.

Awesome AWD, great Peugeot suspension, handling, "acquired sex appeal" :D

And I'm not sure how many of you guys know about these, but in my parents' home country of Iran, they are still producing RWD Peugeots...sorta. They're built on Peykan (Hillman Shit Hunter) chassis from the pre-historic era, and now have new Peugeot front ends grafted on for the lolz.
