^^I keep hearing that ka24's are crap but no one has given a good explanation to back this claim up except that they don't handle boost well.
They tend to have timing chain issues. I can't remember the last time I heard a quiet one. Lots of valve clatter, and they always sound like they are out of oil. (Not to say an S14 is a quiet motor either, but they usually are when they are warm. Not so with a KA24.) I suppose a freshly totally rebuilt KA would be ok for a little while, but the noise will be back in short order. Sure they make good torque, but its still a truck motor.
I'd love a TE72 wagon. I don't see why people think ka's or sr's are junk. They both get over 200k miles daily driven, any motor that does that is alright in my book. Sr swapped 510 is different, there are a few around the states but i have yet to see a 510 wagon in Michigan and or Florida during the years i've lived in both these states let alone a 510 wagon with an sr20 swap

You must live under a rock cause there are quite a few sr20'ed 510's in florida
