    Anyone on R3V own an E46 m3?

Thinking about getting one to DD, and selling my Aging E36.

Test drove a couple and I like them(a tad numb but that might be stock suspension)

I know about subframes and rod bearings.

My dad has one. It's awesome. Its his garage queen but hasn't had an issue in ~8k and 3 years.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

I had a 2005 M3 that bought new and sold with 60k miles. Never a problem.

SMG is a risk, otherwise they are pretty solid now.

Wouldn't own an SMG, 6SP or die.

If it breaks just convert it to manual, you can use the same transmission.

That's a pain in the ass. You have to reprogram it and you have to modify the trans to get the detent springs installed. Under most circumstances, it'll be heaped and easier to just fix SMG.

SO TRUE. There's a white vert with SMG that comes into my shop periodically and it's driven by the quintessential ditsy blonde...

As per the original post, I had one for 2 weeks recently and loved and hated it. It was fast, handled well and was comfortable but cops followed me EVERYWHERE. Even the local bobbies who know me and knew the car. No one gives my 330 a second glance so I can drive like a dick and nobody cares.
