    Movies: 11-18

Just saw "Walk the Line"- great flick for any Cash fan, Phoenix is spot on, the resemblance was great, and the sound, well he had him down pat. They did the singing and everything. Might be a little high on the cheese factor if you're not a fan of Cash's though.

    What else is everyone seeing?

I have a question about this movie, Rob. It's the only fear I have about seeing it. Did they follow the same format as they did in "Ray", meaning did they start with his life and career from the beginning, and build up to all of his legal and drug problems, and then end it shortly after? Ray was a great movie, but I almost felt cheated by it. It seemed like all the focused on was his life before the drugs, and then the drugs.

I never saw ray, so I cant really comment. The main plot of the movie was Johnny's rise to stardom, at the same time his love affair with June Carter. The drugs were in there of course, but i think it was more about Johnny and June than Johnny and drugs...

I'm a huge JC fan, and I enjoyed the movie for what it was, an interpretation of parts of his life.

Good, I'm glad to hear that. So many people don't know what a huge part of Cash's life June really was. It's widely regarded that Johnny Cash died of a broken heart, June was the only thing that mattered to him. When she died, many people close to him said that he just had no more life left in him. If you ever feel like seeing one of Cash's best performances ever, and simultaneously want to bawl your eyes out, watch the video for his cover of the NIN song "Hurt".

          HAHA.

          Anyways,
I already posted in that other movie thread, but I saw Jarhead a couple weeks ago. Awesome movie. Not what I expected, but still awesome in its own right.
Any political views expressed in the movie were too subtle to bother even me. I appreciate it for what the critics shit on it for.

I am looking forward to seeing Walk the Line. I'm not even a big Cash fan, it just looks like a bad-ass movie.

No I'm a Scientologist. And you'd know if I was a Jew because I'd low-ball every seller in the FS forum like everyone else here.
