Has anyone ever used any of these websites with much success? Does anyone have access to any uber databases to gather intel about people? I've got someone I want to investigate - moreso looking and expecting to find previous lawsuits they may have filed or had filed against them but also curious of any criminal type records.

I used one 2 of the most popular sites when researching my background for a job. The data bases did not seem to pull up any thing for cases I had been in unless it was by the state against me (ie..traffic tickets , criminal charges) the online sites had most my criminal background and not all info was correct. There was far more on the pay site searches than came up on my actual FBI background check. The pay sites bring up ever ing you were charged for wether it was dropped or not. And seldom post results the ruling. For employment it is not legal to use these resources. For employment there is always the sherrifs or local police dept however they only search their jurisdiction. There are services for employers that search the state database you can use these places to search your background but you need permission to search other people's background. For employment the system is flawed if the person is from another state then the FBI database is the only resource short of going to an agency from the state the person is from and using a background search service. If you know where they are from you can go to most city or county web sites and search for free however it is like finding a needle in a haystack. -
on a semi un related topic try to google your name and click on links for websites claiming to do this very service. I actually had an employer check out my name and he went on some winky dinky website that claimed to give the background after a couple of bucks. The problem is that these websites give you a preview before you need to pay of what this person might have done. According to it I was a felon, which I'm not, and it cost me a job. I had to go to this and many other websites to get my name off their fake fucking lists.

A friend of mine uses these all the time. He works in HR and he swears by them. Didn't have any experience with them myself.Comment

Weird. I was looking for background check websites for myself because I coudln't remember specific dates for previous jobs yesterday and this pops up today.
