Irrelevant. We're not talking tax, we're talking processing fees. As stated before, when you walk into a store to buy something using your credit card, sometimes the merchant adds $.50 or so, and sometimes they eat it. Either way the processing fee is getting paid one way or another.

Cash is cash, selling something online however-you're paying a fee for the convenience of getting paid instantly. If the seller doesn't want to eat the fee, adjust the price accordingly.

It's such a tiny percentage anyways, there should be no bitching on either end. Even on a $1,000 purchase fees will only be $40 give or take. If you can afford a $1,000 item, you shouldn't bitch about $40. Vice versa, if you're selling a $1,000 item, you should be content with the $40 processing fee.

If you don't like it, go to your local store, get a money order. Put it in an envelope with your $.45 stamp- send it to the seller, wait 3-5 days for delivery, 1-2 days for them to cash it, then they will send your item. Do you retards not understand the concept of convenience? COST OF DOING BUSINESS

That is why i said "f bomb" in my post. Soon after my snarky retort, it started to become an actual discussion and almost a debate. Quite civilized actually. Alas, when i would not conform to his way of thinking, he started using the naughty f word and tried to make my feelings all hurty.

In all actuality, the OP did title his thread with an inferred f bomb (f*ck). That set the tone for my reply. Maybe a thread title like " i feel it is unfair that i am expected to pay the paypal fees by some sellers " would have been more correct to use and would have set a better tone for a discussion on why he felt slighted by this demand.

Small business have been charge a 3% credit card transaction fee for years....this is nothing new. People at gun shows usually give you a price with the 3% in mind, and then say it's 3% cheaper if you pay in cash/check.

Price your shit accordingly, pay cash, or don't buy their shit.

Have you never hear of being charged Shipping and handling or being charged a "convenience" fee for paying online/with a card? Shoot, even here, you get charged and extra 10-20 cents for gas if you don't pay with cash.

The only thing different between people who tell you to pay the fee and those who don't is one is being honest about what's going on in the transaction and the other has already priced their goods accordingly

Secondly, I think your the first tool on r3v to complain about spending an extra $2 for a good that's already been heavily discounted. Maybe we should send you a virus that wont let you browse r3v and you'll only be able buy things straight from the dealer. We'll see how much you complain about pricing and fees afterward.
