One step closer (building a garage)

Kind of late to comment on your layout issues. It would seen to me that having vehicle doors around the back side, or at least toward the rear on one or both sides, would give you more access, less shifting of stuff. That said, if you keep your small vehicles and DD's toward the doors, and put the longer term project spaces toward the rear, then you would only have to move one DD car to enter/exit the rear work spaces.Leave a comment:

Forming this up for concrete is going to be quite a bit of work. I'm really not looking forward to it this morning.Leave a comment:

I went with Conestoga builders/ CB Structures. And yea, it's awesome, this thing went up in a week. The garage doors are on and the stone wainscoting will be on next week. I can't wait to park a car in it. I'll try to get a pic of it up tonight with the doors. Now I'm trying to decide ho to break it up into pieces. I need a engine room/clean room, lift bay, welding/fabricating/restoration bay, parking for three daily drivers, motorcycle/atv parking. I'm open to floor plan ideas if anybody wants to draw something up. I have an idea of what I want to do but I'd like some other ideas to consider. Other guys with experience chime in here. I plan on building an interior wall to separate daily usage vehicles from work area. I usually have two cars under construction/immobilized at any one time, and another one or two running/driving but under construction in some fashion or another. Maybe i'll finally post some pics of the mustang.Leave a comment:

Nice - did you go with Yoder? I had a client on the MD/DE border who used them for a new pole barn for his business. It's great to have a structure up so fast!Leave a comment:

End of day three, windows and man doors are in. The walls are up, soffit and facia is on. White reflective ceiling is in with access panel. Next up is garage doors and the stone wainscoting on the front. My father and brother are coming over this weekend to help me form up for concrete. We're pouring a 50x50 pad. The extra ten feet is for an apron out front. Stone is coming saturday morning. Wire sheets and chairs and rebar are getting picked up this week. Anyone with nothing to do is welcome to come help us form it up. I'm having someone else pour it and finish it. The same guy will be doing my asphalt driveway. It's starting to look like a garage.Leave a comment:

The end of day two. The roof is on and the frame work is complete. The four garage doors are 10x10. I found a few spots where they could have measured a second time. I'll have to get them to replace some 2x4's they cut to short. Other than that everything looks great. Very happy right now. I hope to puor concrete next week.Leave a comment:
