I am in the process of buying a new house. Once I move in a few months I am thinking about starting into wine as well or maybe like brandy/fruit wines, my buddies dad pulls it off and I could talk to him for pointers.

I was looking at this one --- Link Here. Click me! It has good reviews. Any other suggestions? I would like to order it on Amazon.

That one is fine if you want to brew as a novelty thing or just to try it but not if you are wanting to 'really' brew beer. If he wants to actually brew go to a brew site/store and look into a starter kit maybe a little more money but will be more functional in the long run. You will know when you find it, it will based on a 6 gallon bucket :)

I suggest http://homebrew-supplies.homebrewmar...g-kits-c2.aspx but you can get decent kits on amazon. Look for the ones that resemble a science/ chemistry experiment will cost 2-3 times more than what that Mr. Beer kit. But even 150 isn't too much and it will produce beer that people actually want to drink.

Batch #3 is in the primary fermenter. This round is an Irish Red, pumped up a touch with some extra LME and dark brown sugar. Tasting prior to pitching the yeast shows promising results.

After being in bottles for 3+ weeks, my first try with the Obsidian Coffee Stout has received good reviews and requests to make it again. Music to my ears that I not only managed to somehow make a palatable brew, but one that people want more of.

Sampled batch # 2, the strong American Pale Wheat, while boiling batch 3. Bottled for 1 week. Its smooth with nice wheat flavor and light hops. I think the agave nectar put in at boil mellowed the IBUs out, and the tablespoon or so added in with ~5 min to go added in a nice smooth sweetness. Initial light taste with a full-bodied finish. ~8% ABV, cant taste the strength, but can feel it - if that makes any sense... Really excited to see what this one tastes like in a few weeks!

Based on time to brew, I think I've decided to do 1 batch per 3-4 weeks from here on out. Now I just have to figure out what to brew next...

deutschman, any chance you can share that hefe recipe you mentioned early in the thread?
