Its easy to dismiss without looking into it. Personally I think its nuts to get tied into a 2 year contract where you're paying almost double for the same thing. Its your money.

My 3G speed tests in 3 different locations.

      718 down, 636 up
      994 down, 203 up
      269 down, 345 up

4G prepaid phones are already out. $35/mo for 300min, unlimited data and txt. I can quit or upgrade and keep my number any time I want and theres always a good market for used prepaid phones. Why would anyone want to be in a contract?

Even on Sprint's cruddy network I typically see double that on 3G.

Can you point to any links where actual comparison tests have been done?

Here is your gameplan for phones:

Now: S3, better than the HTC One X because it only has 1GB of RAM compared to the 2GB the S3 has. Trust me it makes a big difference.

The one X is just 99 on ATT for that and many other reasons.

            Short term future:

            iPhone 5
            Note 2
            sigpic

Note and Note 2 is just too fucking enormous. Sure its fun to mess around with but really not convenient.. at least for me.

And as mentioned above htc one x is pretty crappy compared to the galaxy s3. Don't cheap out for 50 bucks difference between the one x and S3.. trust me.

                  Not true.

Straight Talk is pre-paid and they lease network time from AT&T and T-Mobile. So you get the same coverage/service as either AT&T or T-Mobile but with unlimited everything for $45/month.

                  Just bring your own phone.

Eh that's pretty garbage. On T-Mobile Straight Talk I usually get around 3000-6000 mbps down, and 1000-2000 mbps up on 4G. But yes, pre-paid is the way to go. Although if you're using 2-5 lines, T-Mobile's Value Plan is impossible to beat right now.

I'm using a Galaxy S II running Android Jelly Bean 4.1.1.

14.94 mbps down and 17.34 mbps up from me to north Carolina. That's on my galaxy s3 in 4g. Running the stock ice cream sandwich.
