    Tire Recomendations for Ford Explorer

Figure someone on r3v has to own or has owned a Ford Explorer. My 1999 XLT is in need of some new tires, and was wondering if anyone had recomendations for SUV tires.

Size is 235/75/15R and trying to keep it cheap as possible, because I don't see myself having this for more than another 2 years at the max. Found some Goodyear Wranglers which seemed pretty cheap, any convincing arguments to abandon these as a choice?

If you can swing them, put Michelin Cross Terrains on it. I don't know if it's still the case, but car (dealership) appraisers will/would value a car higher simply if/because a vehicle had Michelin tires on it. The logic was that if the owner was willing to spend the extra coin for arguably one of the best tires money can buy, chances were very high that the rest of the maintenance and upkeep on the car was current.

For knowledgeable individual buyers they have value as well.

I've got TreadWright Guard Dogs on my Rover & really like them. They're retreads, just so you know. Mine are BF Goodrich All-Terrain carcasses, but the donor carcass depends on the size of the thire.TREADWRIGHT
