Easy champ, I skipped the pics and the lonely line at the bottom. No need to get douchey.

Your budget does limit you to frame only though. Sad, but better to spend a decent amount on a frame and upgrade what you can, when you can.

For the money.. I think Giant wins. The performance you get out of their full sus'ers is amazing.. the Maestro suspension design is awesome. NO pedal bob or brake jack. And if weight is an issue.. they're on the lighter side. Ive been in the industry for almost 6 years.

Trek Fuel is very nice, thats what my dad rides and he likes it. It weigh a ton compared to his Cannondale Super Six but its very light for a MTB. Also KHS and I think Felt make very nice mountain bikes. Have you ever tried a 29er? They might be something to look in to if you haven't tried one before

Done been doin that since middle school!

And yes guys, I'm looking for a used frame, if not a cheap close out web deal or something..

I made this thread asking for frame model recomendations, I'm pretty familiar with the different riding styles, I just haven't been to avid in mtb since at the latest freshman year of high school.

I ride this single speed hardtail whenever I have time on the trails near & around campus, and the Oakland hills whenever I can.

I hit up northstar maybe 5 or 6 times last year, and still need to go up this summer. Smh....

I've heard things regarding the integrity of Santa Cruz frames recently. Anyone hear about this?
