    Suzuki Madura 1200

So, I'm looking to buy a bike and I found a Suzuki Madura 1200 for quite cheap.
I find it to be somewhat ugly but the asking price is $1000
has a bit over 55k on it (too high?)
Maybe its ugliness could be cured with some cafe touches to it.
    Thoughts?

I can't find any significantly modified ones that aren't ugly.
Im sure it can be done though.

For that price id walk away. New Suzuki bikes go for like 4k. Id rather drop 2500 on a BMW R60/75/80/90... With fewer miles too.

If there's a cafe bike in there, it's buried pretty deep. Not to say it's impossible; Doc's Chops has done a few legit Yamaha Virago builds which are a similar monstrosity.

You could probably make a bobber out of it easy enough, if that's not your style I'd move on. For a grand you can get a way better starting point than that.

Why get a bike in Buffalo, where you can only ride it like 4 months out of the year?

Because I will probably be working on it the other 8 months anyways.

Yea, seriously. I think the cheapest cruiser Suzuki offers is the savage/V40 which runs upper 5k or so, and that's a bike designed in the mid 80's. Anything modernish starts at about 9.5k, bigger suzuki cruisers start in the 14k range.

Get a sabre v65, it's atleast a good starting point. You're trying to turn a japanese harley into a cafe racer lol
                      Jah bless! :pimp:
