Some people are willing to pay a premium for an unmolested car. If it is extremely clean with all the records, I could see it easily going for around that to the right buyer. Baggy pants kids looking for a vert to slam on ground control and fake wheels aren't the buyer this seller is looking for most likely.
Well if you look at the ad there are many issues. I don't think this Guy id a person who has actually babied it. I think he's trying to flip it now that prices are rising. A year ago I got my unmolested vert with only 121k on it for 1700. 9k one year later is bs.
He's gonna have to write a better ad and actually know something about the car for it to be worth even half of that asking price. He says nothing about history other than that all scheduled maintenance has been done, which I'm nearly 100% sure is BS considering he has no mention of past owners.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

Unless I'm missing something, the only issue is the brand new top not installed? I'm not saying this is necessarily as clean as the buyer says it is but I still don't think 9k is out of the realm of possible for a really nice, stock e30 vert.
There's so many issues that it's almost guaranteed to have if the owner doesn't specifically state it doesn't. For example, I would bet that the car has more than one leak, that may be a pain to trace down and fix. 9k is in the realm of cars that have been enthusiast owned for years and treated as such. This guy seems like he pays a shop to do everything and exaggerates how much he spent on maintenance. Why would he say he spent 4k on maintenance and not say a single word about what was done?

Why don't you just call the guy up since you know it all by a small ad that was posted on craigslist.
$9k is way too high, i could see 6-7 if everything really is as advertised and it has lsd but its his car he can ask whatever he want and the market will decide
That's what a phone is for. A buyer calls the seller to get more info.....
Bingo. Vivek, give him a call and see, then buy the car if the price is right.... Oh wait, you're just a kid with an e30, how could you possibly afford to buy another one ;)
