I hate to post this in the wrong area but I need a very very quick response.
What is the exact specs on the socket needed for a 325e rear axle retaining bolt? Do I need a thin wall or can I just use a thick wall?
    I know it's a
    30mm
    hex
    1/2 drive
    thin or thick wall??????????

Someone help please and sorry admins. and mod. but I need help now and the tranny/drivelain area isn't getting much action.
    Please delete after response.

If you get a matco impact socket, its thin enough to do the job. I had the guy come in to my shop of test fit it. Or if you wont use it much, a chrome 6 point will work.
Ma che cazzo state dicendo? :|

I don't have impact though. So a normal wall thickness for a hex socket will fit okay?

depends on where your getting it. Some of those auto parts stores sell a Chrome Socket that is thicker than a standard impact socket. Cheep china made shit wont hold up unless they make it like that.

A good name brand chrome socket will work (IIRC its what I used on mine).

The one place that I found a 30mm hex they said it was labeled as an axle ret. bolt remover. So I don't know if those are naturally gonna be made a little thinner.
