I use my debit card for normal purchases but I keep track of the amount of money in my account very closely because there isn't a lot to keep track of. I use the cc for buying gas.

Support small business, spend locally and use cash. I pay over 700 a month for the pleasure of accepting cards at my business. Shit sucks, people have no idea how much money the cc companies and card processing vendors are making. By only using cards you are essentially giving ~2% of the national economy to the "bad guys" Think about it.

I work at a chevron gas station. We batch out ( every 100 CC transactions ) at least every 2-3 hours. CC free avg $130ish on 100 CC slides. Times that by 8 or 9 times aday. Thats alot.
