Have fun with your 1% that was "baked in" therefore your money to begin with
You seem a little nutty. Of course its baked in, its baked in just like the transportation costs of the shit you sell in your store or restaurant. Sure we could all buy local but that means people up north would enjoy some fucking scurvy since fresh fruit is rare in Minnesota in winter.

Its not a rip off, they provide a service. If you dont like it then dont accept credit cards, Ive seen plenty of places that do that. Id have to say seen because I cant say shopped at, I hate dealing with cash.

Like said, cash can easily be stolen/lost and I have to carry around fucking metal when I complete a transaction. If shit happens with my card I call the bank, they refund the money and I get a new card in 3 days.

Its done on the transaction, not on the card. Typically its two prices. Like a liquor store nearby will have a price but jack that price up 3% for credit. SO they would just swipe for the price+3% an the CC company is none the wiser.

I wasnt aware I was supposed to think VISA is a bad guy. Its a 2% fee for the convenience of not having to fuck with cash.

You make a choice as a business owner. I can accept CC's which will likely help increase my total sales but I have to pay a fee for the convinience of my customers or I can skip accepting them and force only cash sales which may reduce my total sales and alienate some customers. You picked the option to accept them, if your total profit before paying the fees doesn't offset the fees then you have the option to not accept these cards and have a higher margin on lower sales. It is a business decision and you have to make it similiar to my decision if I want to use that card becasue it helps me by getting the most cash back every year. I understand your point but you can't blame people for using an option that you have given to them for their payment method, if you cna't afford to get paid in that fashion don't get paid that way but watch possible buyers walk out the door.

This being said if I am buying something from a local vender or mom and pop type shop and I don't have cash I will usually use a debit card and tell them to run it which ever way is better for them. If it is a small purchase I will usually put it off until I have cash because I know the fees are high for people especially since I use AmEx which I understand to be the worst.

I politely refuse to pay additional fees.

I honestly just hate change and I don't like debt. So I tend to use debit. I use a credit union (Star One) and they have reversed a few hundred in fraudulent charges on my debit card. Piece of shit bought $200 worth of pizza and $100 at k mart.
