But no snow evar.
/nuff said. (for me anyway)
Other than that, no inspection is nice, no hills is bad. The most fun you can have is going around a roundabout. I enjoy the weather, haven't been to any meets here though so can't comment on the 'scene' here specifically. FL is pretty big.Leave a comment:

This, but only if you live in the western part of the state. Not NOVa, not Tidewater.
We have no emissions inspections, many backroads, few cops (outside of the cities).
State vehicle inspection is easy to pass, especially if you know someone with an inspection license. It's also nice to know that everyone else's vehicle had to pass some sort of inspection. Even knowing someone won't get you a sticker if your brakes don't work.
AQ vehicle laws are pretty lax.
Not a huge concentration, but enough people that if you need help they're within a 30 minute drive at most (Inufaye, Stoner Sam, and I all live within 10 miles of each other.)
Insurance doesn't kill. I, with a not so clean driving record, pay $25/month on my e28. I think my e30 was ~$30.
Parts are easy to get as I work at a shop managing the parts dept.
Really, besides a few bullshit things, I like living here and being a car nut here. Sure, it's pretty boring living out in the boonies, but we make our own fun.
Rust, as long as you don't live in Tidewater, no worries, really.
No natural disasters really. Mountains protect us.
Moonshine. Franklin County is here. Moonshine capital of the world. (Anyone going to see Lawless? I am...)
EDIT: Also, we have the cheapest vanity plates in the US.Last edited by slammin.e28; 08-31-2012, 06:04 AM.Leave a comment:

Colorado has some pretty killer mountain roads... you just need to know where they are
It is great for e30's, there are only a couple segments in denver (mostly lakewood area) where you need to at least think about your oil pan, but i've driven all over this state for 8 years with 2.75" clearance on my e30 with summer tires and almost 2" even with my winter tires... i know.
Climate is no desert (AZ or NM) but for avoiding rust its damn close, plus we get FLUFFY SNOW to drive in, none of that coastal slush ice.
I wish California would break off and drown in the ocean already, not only do their people infest Denver and vote Democrat, but now their laws are migrating as well. Classic car registration used to be a rolling 25 year landmark. Since 2009, it is now required to be pre-1975 to get Colorado collector car plates and be emissions exempt. All in the name of raising revenue by taxing for emissions on (mostly poor) people who drive cars from the 80s... not that the average "collector car" plated vehicles are actually collectible in the least. Lucky that my e30 is an '84 and turned 25 in January '09, got my collector plates, and then they shut the window in September of '09. So basically according to the state of Colorado no mas collector vehicle e30s, except anyone like me who slipped in right before they shut the door.Last edited by LEANE30; 08-30-2012, 10:22 PM.Leave a comment:

Agree and disagree.
Driving roads in CA are better. If you disagree with me, then you haven't been on the right ones yet!
Laws are much better here in CO. If you live outside of denver area, you probably don't have to worry about smog either :up:Leave a comment:

i loved driving in pnw, the heavyish rain would kill it for me.
Californi has been good, the community, weather in general and backroads kick ass
enough to make me believe that it makes up for shitty motorist laws and regulations.
Quite frankly when we get together to enjoy the cars, we never run into trouble with
law. Yards still have good findings, shops gallore if you're into that kinda thing, and
well California.Leave a comment:
