i had a chuckle at the interview, then started reading everyone's comments in the thread and realized they were all stuck up dbags who just wanted to hate.

all i got to say is the e46 looks clean, and if a ziptied intercooler makes the owner happy and brings the ladies around, then more power to him.

its people like the guy who filmed this that make me shy away from car meets, drop some knowledge on someone, dont put them down.

anyway, prolly a repost, but if it makes you LOL too, then cool beans.
This person is not amenable to knowledge. If you think you can simply "drop some knowledge" on someone like that you miss why the whole thing is funny.

                        :ohsnap:

Lets make this into a physics problem....

If a m12/13 displaces 1.5L and makes 1,300 HP at 100PSI, then how much HP does an s54 have that displaces 3.2L and runs 400PSI???

                        (1300HP/1.5L) = 866.666HP/L

                        (X/3.2L) = 866.666HP/L

                        X = 2,773.333 HP at 100PSI

                        (400PSI/100PSI) = 4

                        (4*2,773.333) = 11,093.333HP

                        11,093.333HP ........

P.S. I have no idea if you can just multiply boost like that, but I think the point remains the same.

this vid was also in the thread

You can't tell me that this isn't pathetic of the owner...pulley driven turbo? vtec civic type-r corolla head?

also someone in the thread did their own calculations on BHP of that 'M3' (post #170)

Which if we assume perfect efficiency, at ~110 hp/liter, this bad boy should be putting down about 9460hp at the crank. Must be an absolute monster.

And yeah, You know like +- 2000HP due to the moisture content of the air and the amount of bitches he's got in the back seat. I have gotten to the point of just saying "cool man, glad you like your car, it's nice" and moving on. I hardly go to meets or GTG's. I don't want to talk cars with people anymore. I want to work on cars. I can't go to meets w/o having to listen to someone talk about how much cooler or better their car is because of what they added or paid to have done.
Bottom line is this. People are inherently stupid. Whether it be on the road, in person, on the internet, or by themselves. We are all guilty of this in different ways. Showing the world how one person is "lying" doesn't make you cooler, or better than them. It makes you a tattle tale. What could anyone possibly gain from this? ESPECIALLY that MKIV vs the Corolla. That was just sad, the MKIV wasn't built at all and barely pulled on a bone stock Corolla with a wing.
People love their cars. They have pride in them. They install things onto them looooong before they have a complete customization. Who cares anymore? Making fun of someone because they share the same love or respect for a car brand, but go about it the wrong way (in your opinion), is useless. Like the M badge deal. Who the hell cares anymore. I used to make such a big deal out of it, but honestly, as long as I know what it is, who cares, why should I get angry or argue with someone. I'm not BMW, I am just a guy who likes cars.
Let people be who they are, and spend more time enjoying your car and others cars. You don't have to prove you're better anymore. I promise, keeping an even keel and your mouth shut in these situations makes you the better person of the bunch.
Last time I went to a meet in GA, I had two people in particular (who I know through the forums) come up to me, and instead of saying "hi, how's it going", dive into "dude, you won't believe what I did to my car". Or "hey come look at my car". I would say "what happened? is something wrong with it?". They would say "No man, you need to see what I've done."
Nope, I don't. I want to know how you are, how your family is, how your job is going. We can talk cars, but I don't go to meets to do that right away. I go to meets to see people. Their cars are how I met them, but honestly, if they sold their cars, I would want to stay in touch with them. Not to talk about what they did to their cars, but what/ how they are doing. This is how the Golden Gate chapter used to be. Which is why i am still a member after moving back east. I ENJOYED going to meets and drives with them. They were genuinely stoked to see one another.

"he didn't get into boost" LAWLZZ

Well said del. I stopped going to a bunch of meets for similar reasons. Mostly young people wanting to meet up 12-4 in the morning and stand around talking about someone else's car. There were cool people out of the bunch but that's in itself doesn't justify staying up just about all night.

I'm trying to go to a local meet during the day of BMW peeps around here though because they all seem mature and responsible but have fun.

I am a member of the cca but that's a whole separate beast in itself. I gotta work up the nerve to be the new guy and meet them. Lol I'm very social and fun but as far as going out to make friends, not somthing I'm known for. Most people I know through cars I've met through someone else.
                                DENY IGNORANCE!
