computer speaker question.

anyone have any idea why there is sound still coming out of my speakers even though they are turned all the way down.
its quite annoying when you try turning down the speakers and there is still sound coming through.

couldnt find a solution anywhere. so thought someone here might now whats up.

i have the windows volume set to 50% and the speakers turn down all the way.

it used to work before i moved to a new house. no idea what it could be.
