I had my co-worker who had a DJ biz do my wedding. He had already been doing it for many years and worked solely on referrals. But he's in Jail now so it won't do you any good.

My best advice also is to go by word-of-mouth, hire someone recommended to you.

just do the ipod it's so easy and you have control from shit music. You can also time edit songs on itunes to get rid of the long drawn out ends of songs. I have a whole playlist of house music where I edited the songs so when I hit random and play on list it actually sounds like a DJ playing the songs and droping them in flawlesly.

we had a harp at my wedding and an Ipod and a friend with a large outdoor setup. $0. i liked it just fine.

i've never seen a good wedding DJ

nothing is classier when someone scrambles up to a bunch of ipod wires attached to a ghetto soundsystem, feeverishly using that scroll wheel for the next awesome song.

as much as it'll save you money, down the road it's the day you'll remember.

it'll be worth the extra cash to have GOOD memories, instead of saving a few bucks because your buddy has some "sick podcast he'll throw on *everyone* will love...."

like my dad used to say...

got a $10 head? get a $10 helmet...echoes for many walks of life.

So I am going to "interview" a few DJs in a couple of days. I think I have the basic questions covered. Is there anything the wise R3v community can tell me?

                        Thanks
