Panama VS Negril/Montego Bay Jamaica

I'm planning my wife's 30th bday, and want to take her somewhere nice as a surprise.

We've been to Cuba, Mexico, all the predictable other areas.
(She's been to Dominican, I haven't but whatever)

So for those who have actually travelled to either of these destination, tell me about your experience.

Personally, I'm leaning towards Jamaica for their laid back attitude, awesome food and of course their music (not to mention fringe benefits) however Jamaica is super $$$$.

Panama City seems to be less 'raved' about as they're still somewhat new in the game for travel and toursism.

My wife and I, ARE they kinds of people who DO travel off the resort.
Spent 3 nights in core Havana, survived...scary shit.

well, in jamaica, you can always take her to hedonism 2(negril). you can watch all sorts of middle aged couples/seniors of all shapes and sizes having sex in the pool. if you are really adventurous, you can partake in that too.

i haven't been to panama, but my wife lived there with her first husband. she says it is really beautiful and inexpensive. i think fairly safe these days.

sounds like you are looking for a beach resort. these are the places i have been that i really like: i suggest huatulco, mexico. my second choice would be ixtapa/zihuataneo.

off the beach: san miguel adente, guanahuato, queretero, cuernavaca, oaxaca. excuse my spelling. all in mex and easy to get to from a connection on united through houston.
