Say you went in the future and saw me then came back in time and told me.

you say "yes"
then I lop off one of my fingers.

If you traveled to the future and observed said person with 10 fingers, then traveled back to the past and they chopped one of them off... they have essentially changed the future. Upon your return trip to the future, they will have 9 fingers. The future is not static. There are infinite variants of the future that can occur.
And if you traveled to the future to have sex with your old grandma of a gf, you're just sick.Comment

actually, wait i get it. because you are the one tearing a hole through the fabric of time and space, relative to the present you're the same. but because she is not on the same timeline of existence, she is different, and yes, you would have cheated on her 'past self', who is the person you left behind when you fell down into the rabbit hole.

If you think of time as one plane there is no yesterday or tomorrow. by changing the present when cutting of the finger you are changing the "future".
If I didnt stop getting high I'd be able to explain this to everyone perfectly.
