free iphone 4 VS $99 refurbished galaxy siii

Just a quick question...what do you guys think i should do?

it's time for a new phone and i think the galaxy siii is the most advanced phone at the moment. I know it doesn't run the smoothest, and it's got a plastic back, but i think it's a pretty slick phone.

anyway. enough with the editorial: what should I get? The iphone 4 (not 4s), is $0.99 with a 2 year plan, and the galaxy siii refurb is $99.00

opinions and rationale would be much appreciated.

What carry are you stuck with? Verizon you can get a new s3 for 100-150 and iPhone 4s's are like 100.

The purchase price of the phone is so negligible compared to what you have to pay per month that free vs 100 vs 200 is almost irrelevant. Get whatever you want and be happy with it for two years. I'd personally get an iPhone 5 but get the Galaxy if you like android. Since you're even considering this I'm thinking you probably are not against iPhones (most android lovers wouldn't even think about an iPhone, even for free), so just get the 5.

I'd say go with the free phone. In 2 years you can get the iphone 6s (Iphone 5 with slightly faster processor and slightly better camera)

If it's between those two go for the s3, it's a lot better than the 4. And I'm not an android fan, I have an iPhone, but the i4 doesn't even compare to the s3.

sorry to the guys who thought it was a spam, but i've been a member of r3v for several years now, and i wouldn't risk my membership by spamming a community i love. i f3cking hate spammers. some dipsh5t spammed the forum with some gun forum a few months/years ago, and i hated that sh8t.

i haven't spent money on phones, because technology is in a period of exponential growth and i'm patient enough to wait out the couple of years to get slightly outdated tech.

i just thought that i'd enjoy new technology for a change. but yeah. i've had the first iphone, the iphone 3gs, so i'm not an iphone hater. i just hate apple fanboys and what they represent; dedication to a product regardless of objective bad-ness or good-ness.

i think apple's made solid products, but so have many other companies; it's their marketing that made them so damn popular. i think it's more marketing genius than innovative products that has attributed to their success. i bought stocks in apple a few years ago, knowing that apple fanboys were...exactly that. and i've benefited from their unwavering devotion.

anyway. i've had a bit too much scotch, so i'm rambling, but yeah.
i appreciate your opinions a lot.
and i don't want a slanted apple OS vs android opinion. I know i'm kind of tired of the apple OS and want to try android, but the cheaper option of going with apple again is so enticing...

Does size matter? I have a Galaxy Nexus and I think that S3 is huge. If you can deal with the size the S3 is about the pinnacle right now (although I prefer a Nexus because I know they will get updates longer and more reliably than the iPhone).

Get the Samsung because its what you want. Take your monthly bill, multiply it by 24 (your 2 year contract), and think about how little $100 is compared to that.
