I'm in the same boat. Idk what I would do without the window snapping feature...

Meh I will probably upgrade. You should all get used to it, it is the way of the future, embrasse or be left behind.

Everybody here are just fucking pussies, this is what you should say to windows "Hay fucker, your new interface is shit, infact I have seen shit that interfaces better then this. But I am a mother fucking man, and I am going to dominate you like USA did Iraq. So you better get ready cos I am going to fuck your shit up."

I disabled updates :D .... but it's still slow as hell on the laptop ... not ideal at all for what I use it for..

so if windows 8 is a step up in the same direction I'll never use it ... XP Pro is where it's at still for me as all programs I need is supported and it works best out of all other windows programs I've used ... OK 95 and 98 is good too but not so much for running games and programs anymore >.<.
concerning the bolded (did this in 7, I'm sure there's something similar for Vista): right click on that shitty little white flag icon in the bottom right corner in the screen, The action center. Open that fucker up and change the settings labeled "User Account Control" to your preference

BTW, when i changed mine, Windows asked me if it was OK for this windows program to make changes to my hard drive...

Since running Mac I don't know why people use Windows anymore unless you're an IT guy. I run Mac with Windows XP on parallels for my CAD work. My Mac runs windows better than my IBM laptop.

This just became the classic windows vs mac vs linux debate. Let me get my popcorn ready.

I know Microsoft is really trying hard with marketing the tile interface but if that's what's holding you back then you are mistaken. IT'S JUST AN INTERFACE! Switch to the normal desktop view and go on with life. There are many new features that you should be checking out rather than bashing a tile display that doesn't need to be used.

If you are stuck on XP then good for you. You really have no argument why it's better than 7+ b/c it isn't. When it comes to cars maybe simpler is better but with software, especially Windows, it's worth considering several things before dismissing it over a tile interface ha! Just be sure to upgrade before EOS: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windo...ofsupport.aspx

Quick Google search brought this up: http://www.pcworld.com/article/20128...rovements.html

BTW, I don't plan on using the tile display. I rarely come in contact with Macs so I cannot comment on them. I like building my systems and gaming so Windows works well for me.

Enjoy buying overpriced machines that are less durable than a 400 dollar HP you buy at Costco.

I have 2 HP Elitebooks, Windows 8 (15inch and a 12inch for road warrior crap) onsite support. I've put them through hell and they keep on ticking.

OSX is no better over Win7/8, and don't give me the

                A) Apples don't get viruses (yah huh they do)
                B) Apples are easier to use (subjective, Win7 is pretty god damn easy)
                C) Apples just work (If I had a nickle for everytime I fought OSX to do something that it refused to do I'd be rich)

That and Apple keeps buying up patents and suing the hell out of everyone, so they can go F themselves because of that as well :D

all of that^ "C'' is the reason I went back to my PC roots. I was just sick of having to open programs to just download a program to get the program I needed.

Mac is amazing for music and editing though, and I like the Mac version of PShop better. That is just personal likes though, does not translate into better than one another specs.

PC's are cheap to build and repair, hassle free program use.

I LOVE my iPod touch, that is the extent of my Apple products now. I even dislike the iPad, I would take an ASUS with a 150gb external HD all day!

I love how every Mac user or "generally" every mac user installs Windows after they get going on Mac. :wgaf: I like both OS's and run them both on a PC
