How should I make my car sound better?

Exhaust. Everyone always looks at a car that sounds like ass with disdain and disgust. People can't tell if your tape won't eject while you drive by, but they can hear your shitty exhaust.

So my 5 has one main problem at the moment.. the muffler is rusted and rattly and the factory stereo deck wont eject a tape.

Custom Catback or new Stereo Deck?

Both are about the same price the way I want to do it ($170).

My exhaust will be new unique for sure and the stereo deck I have in mind is a Pioneer DEH-X8500BH.

The Pioneer P7300 that I had installed for 3 days was one of the worst head units that I have ever heard. It also had one f the worst user interfaces that I have ever experienced.

I would recommend picking something else.

My money would be on the exhaust. If you've learned nothing, don't shortcut. Do it once and do it right.

I believe I've seen an OEM stereo with a retrofit iPod cable in the glovebox. I may be talking out of my arse though...

There's a DIY on it. You use headphone wire - not an ipod cable.

Im going to get the exhaust right...

and new decks do look bad I agree. But I need a USB input.. thats how I roll with a flashdrive and 16gbs of music on it

Decks that color match though (like JVCs and Pioneers) dont look too bad

neither. find a oem stereo, new ones DESTROY interiors imo. and just remove your exhaust its free and your car will sound like a v10 hehe.

Im having a shop cut out the resonators after the cat and straight through to the muffler

Muffler getting replaced with spintech :)
