so i saw a bunch of sweet videos about drift cars and how baller they are.

so... can i get one for like say under 250$? like a good one. something that i can really sink my grubby mits into.

I can either get some info or im buying the first one that looks good online.

lol I like those pics but r/c cars never stay that clean unless you never drive them or detail them every time you use it. But 250 could be a good start. Electric or nitro?

i've got a tt-01, they're very fun, but can end up costing a lot of money, especially with the batteries. It will also take a lot of time to make the bodies look as good as the one you have posted

If i was to get another one, it'd have to be a rally spec model that can actually take jumps and such, having to find carparks like that can get annoying if you don't live in apartments/innercity.

Way WAY back in the day I had a Nitro HPI RS4 Pro, and my bro was really into Off road Buggies and had a custom .41 4 stroke in his T-max ........

I agree with the Rally spec over the drifto/pavement only cars, as its much easier to find places to play with them. My RS4 had to have a glass smooth huge parking lot to keep form ripping the pan and front splitter apart, it was fast as shit though.l

Nitro is terrible for drifting as you only make power at certain RPM's where as electric have all the power you need at any RPM.

The Team Associated TC4 is the best on-road car you can buy pretty much, however, it is a kit, meaning you have to build it yourself and buy all the electronics, wheels, tires and body separately. This of course means it won't be cheap.

For a drifter though, you don't need the best. Anything "hobby class" will do just fine in stock form. HPI makes a few cars, Tamiya makes several as well as a few other more obscure brands. My suggestion is to check out your local hobby shop and see what they sell. When you crash your car (when, not if), having replacement parts readily available instead of having to wait for them in the mail is a big plus.

After you buy the car and 2-3 battery packs, get some ABS pipe to make "tires" and have some fun.

Oh, and don't buy into the cars that have "drift control". All that is is a gyro that counter-steers for you and is fucking lame.

Did Yokomo stop making drift cars? Desided to look to see what all they had now, and just found wheels?
