No. I haven't named anything particularly obscure, nor is this thread supposed to be about me. It's about music. It's good stuff.

Most of r3v is under the age of 20 and listens to noise generated on a laptop by a guy dressed in a costume that looks like the bastard child of Jack in the Box and Minnie Mouse.

1980: Damn good year. For me, either Talking Heads - Remain in Light, Dead Kennedys - Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables, or Cramps - Songs the Lord Taught Us.
1981: The Gun Club - Fire of Love

Heavy metal (NWOBHM, thrash), death metal (technical, melodic, epic), and classical.

I'm a music geek but I have no idea what years all these albums came out. And if you want obscure bands I've got 'em: Arsis, Ouroborous, Be'lakor, Psycroptic, Omnium Gatherum etc

And for a best album per year, I think Iron Maiden has that on lockdown starting from 1980 till now.

I can't keep myself to any particular genre(s). I have to be open to it all or I get bored. There's a time/mood for most anything. I do have my preferences but almost every genre has good stuff in it, whether the "mainstream" representation of it does or not. You might give NoMeansNo - Wrong a listen. Most metal heads I know appreciate it, despite not being metal.
