    phone decision

I am looking to get my grandmother a phone for her home. She currently has a phone but when the power goes out so does her phone service. Which means she has no way of contacting the outside world to let anyone know she is out of power. So I am trying to find a product that will work like an emergency back up. AKA works like a normal phone while there is power but when power goes out has a battery and a way of making a phone call. If anyone has an idea please post it up. thanks

PS. obviously a cell phone would not work since she would never use it therefore never have it charged for when the power goes out.

Ya but then it would be plugged in for years cant imagine that would be a great idea. Cell phones also are not exact senior citizen friendly, even basic phones have a ton of sub menus that she would not want and then there is the shear size aspect of trying to read the numbers or anything on the screen.

        I have one of these:

Comparison shop for in . See store ratings and reviews and find the best prices on with PriceGrabber's shopping search engine.

It's basically a surge protector with a HUGE battery (thing is heavy as fuck) but anything plugged into it will stay on for quite a long time, if the power goes out.

There's tons of outlets on it, of all kinds. Something like this should be what you're looking for.

Does she have a standard phone line? Just get a super basic analog phone that powers on with the phone line only or get a phone that runs on batteries. You could also just get a UPS like what was linked above.

            Sprint phone connect.

It has a battery in case power goes out.
            20 a month.

Any corded phone will work with no power with a standard land line. Like, $10 from Walmart.
