Brought this one back from the grave..... forgot how awsome Rolodex Propaganda is..... and how Mars Volta (and especially Sparda) do not compare to what ATDI was.
YES YES YES godammit FUCK YES.
The Mars Volta is a fucking blip on the radar compared to what ATDI was. They are good, but it's not the same. TMV fans will go on and on until they're blue in the face about how much better they are than ATDI was, but I think it's nothing more than afterglow, and them trying to convince themselves that there's still ATDI's fire in there.
Relationship of Command is admittedly the first Drive-In album I heard, but I quickly delved into the rest, and fell in love. TMV is good stuff, but it's like someone ripping off your favorite Transformer, and your Mom coming back from K-Mart with a new Go-Bot. Yeah, it's kind of the same, the general idea is there, but it's not the same, and in the back of your mind, you know it's just crap.

Damn guys! I'm gonna have to disagree. I LOVE At the Drive In but damn!, De-Loused was such an incredible album. There is no way they"ll ever make a better one but IMO that was the best thing that group of guys ever did. We won't even talk about Sparta....ehhhhh ....shivers...
Imogen Heap-Speak For Yourself is absolutely amazing....great driving music and great chill out music. I'm also really into the Garden State soundtrack right now. For more aggressive driving, ive gotta go with Killswitch Engaged and the new Saosin album....goooooood shit man!
on the topic of TMV...Every album but DeLoused blowed if you asked me....I saw ATDI back in like 92 or 93 or somethign when I was real young and they were touring aroudn Texas....Relationship of Command is a great in my opinion as well.
I agree. ATDI is amazing. i have all of their records and a few live bootleg releases that are out of this world. de-loused is the best thing Cedric and Omar have done to date and will be until the end of time though. they will never make anything as ground-breaking as that record.
