Getting new glasses. Essilor lenses...worth the cost?

I've had glasses since I was 5 and never had problems with them. Needless to say not may have really stuck out as beign better than any others (except when they stopped making the lenses out of glass and went to plasics..boy my glasses got a lot lighter!)

Anyway, does anyone kow the benefit of essilor lenses? I tried googling it but never got much for helpful info.

Are those the lenses made by leica?? (sp) thinner for heavy prescriptions??

I don't know about essilor, but I have trivex lenses, and hands down it was worth the extra cost.

I have had crizal and pentax lenses....both are thinner, scratch resistant and drastically reduce glare. Well worth it...I can't speak to essilor, but I think they are similar.

ohhh the joys of being blind! I need to get some new glasses soon.. I only wear mine at home at night so I couldnt even tell you what mine are made out of

Yes, very well worth it. Invest as much as you can into quality eyeglasses.

the ones I never wear are made out of super high tech polymer shit that are anti glare, anti scratch resistant self tinting in bright light I have no idea what they are made out of.

I got mine at Costco, and whatever the anti-glare/scratch resistant stuff they put on them is is AMAZING.
