    RC xmods

Ok.... so will thinks I'm mega ghey for havin one, but he wears used underpants so whatever......

I got an xmods for xmas. the 05 mustang starter pack. And I got the lil rechargeable battery dingus too. I'm not into rc cars at all but it looked like fun. So I toyed with it and put it together. The kicker was that I got a $30 gift card from Ripoff Shack. So.... I went there with the intention to buy odds and ends bullshit switches and stuff til I saw the motor upgrades and such for these things. Forgive me but I've been out of the country for 3 years. So.... I buy the headlights and the stage 2 motor upgrade. My eyes are hurtin so I didn't put the motor in, but put the headlights in and chased the cat around. Sheer and utter family fun. Before I end up dropping some of MY money into this thing.... does anyone else have these things or will I be in a class with 8 year olds? I'm just enjoying bashing this thing around on the kitchen floor.... but I'm looking at the awd kit and the drifting wheels... yada yada.... Some cool shit for this little thing.... Just wonderin if anyone else has experience in these.

those are fun to tool around with for at least a little while, I have an HPI Nitro RS4 3 EVO, its the euro kit and it goes about 46mph its fun but it was expensive. The mod parts sound cool but realistically I dont think that any of them are worth it, I can see the headlights but I wouldnt go crazy and spend like another 50 bucks on it.

If I spent another 50 on it I'd probably have just about every mod there is for it. All in all I guess you could spend about 150 to 200 to have a fullly equipped little car. The next thing I need to get is the metal bearing kit. The wheel hubs have plastic bearings that aren't exactly precision engineered.... so the metal bearings would be a nice way to make this thing handle a little more responsive. So far the biggest issue I'm having is.... where the fuck can I drive this thing? The motherinlaw has shag carpet so the lil kitchen is the only place. I've got so many little dings and scratches on this thing already its not funny.

I have a subaru STI with the 4wd upgrade, battery upgrade, carbon fiber shaft, quicker gearing, wheel shims, metal bearings, and billet suspension components. Its something I started wasting money on for a little bit, then got tired of it.

Check this site out, the guy has some insane shit: http://atomicmods.com/

You can spend ALOT of money on these if you want...

I was just lookin at that site posted above.... THATS a bit much..... We'lll see how the new motor and gearing fares though. I'd like to find the lithium batt upgrade for it... supposedly can max at 24mph with it?

I also have the HPI nitro RS4 EVO3 with the M3 body. paid like 500 euros for the thing, and got tired of buying replacement parts for it. every time i took it out, i would brake a min. of 50dollars worth of stuff. now it just sits in the garage collecting dust. Its alot funner, when there are people to race.

Ive got the X-Mods WRX, and 350z Bodies and pretty much almost all of the upgrade mods except for the, body upgrade for the WRX. I've got some friends that work at radioshack so i got the hook up.

I'm thinking that I wouldn't want to spend the 400 or 500 on a nitro car or truck.... but then I look at a fully decked out one of these things runnin 300 or more and no real idea of what the cap would be on speed and durability as there are questions about the suspension since it has been changed and such. I guess after the next go round of upgrades I'll have a better idea. AWD and metal bearings are next

I bought a firebird and an evo for my 2 little brothers.

Meh, they're cool I guess. but as soon as I drove it I was glad I didn't get one for myself, crashed into the wall like 5 times

I suggested a nitro rc car for a present just jokingly and what do you know, I got a fat gift card to tower hobbies and with the easy pay it was like 100 bucks a month for 3 months.
