Since all I got for christmas was a bunch a of clothes, and I've been bored as hell at home, I went out and got a used Nintendo DS and Mario Kart DS. The game is awesome, I haven't yet tried it over wifi yet though.

I thought about getting a PSP over the summer, but the problem I had was that the system really doesn't deliver anything new to the world of gaming, and I would make better use of the system if the games were good ones made specifically for the handheld, and not ported from other consoles. Somehow it just seems that about 90% of the games on PSP are just ports of games that I'd rather play on PS2. The PSP is a really good system, it's just not what I'm looking for in a handheld system.
I think I read an interview with some developer at Microsoft that said they have no current plans to release a handheld platform, but it could be something that they will look into due to the competition between the DS and PSP.Originally posted by EurospeedI wonder, does Microsoft have any plans to release a handheld system?
Isn't there some kind of connectivity for the PSP and XBOX 360?Comment

There's a lot of games slated to come out for it, and I also like the fact that you can watch movies on it, and there's a shitload of them already.Originally posted by TvanI thought about getting a PSP over the summer, but the problem I had was that the system really doesn't deliver anything new to the world of gaming, and I would make better use of the system if the games were good ones made specifically for the handheld, and not ported from other consoles. Whenever I feel the need for watching a movie on the road, I usually have my laptop with me though.
I think PSP just lacks real breakthrough games that define the handheld platform. Two of the games for DS that have done this already are Polarium and Meteos, and hopefully Electroplankton will also. That said, the DS does lack some good action games, like Metal gear Acid for instance.Comment

I have a PSP and a PS2 and I would agree with that. If you haven'ts seen the game list for it yet, it's pretty big and only getting bigger. But it also does much more then play games - movies, pictures both on a bad ass screen and you can use it a mp3 player. Without those I would not have bought one, hell I only own 1 game for the damn thing and I've had it forever.Originally posted by TvanSomehow it just seems that about 90% of the games on PSP are just ports of games that I'd rather play on PS2.
I'm sure you know it has a internet browser which to me is pointless because it takes so damn long to type in even the shortest URLs. But the wireless that it uses is pretty damn cool. SOCOM 2 is always fun to play online or head to head.91 m3Comment
