    Motorized Couch?

    Hi everyone! ;)
I've just recently come across the idea of making a motorized couch, but I'd love suggestions, opinions, and ideas as to what (and possibly how) I should go about with this. :)

So first up, I was deciding whether I should go with using a mobility scooter with a wig wag (joystick like controls) as the base (minus the seat) weld on some support beams and pop the couch on top

Go with a lawn mower motor.. which seems a lot more complicated, but would run on gas which would be more reliable than a battery powered scooter. I'd have to figure out a whole steering mechanism for this one.

or what I just recently saw were ran using a Tecumseh motor which would be more powerful and even quicker than the others. (this is where i'd need plenty of advice because I'm a wee noob. :giggle: )

I'm leaning towards the mobility scooter, because it'd be much cheaper and alot easier... but then again, I may be persuaded otherwise :)

I'd love to hear everyone's input!

I am a member of my school's robotics team and we made a sofa chair that is electric. We also made a "go kart" its low to the ground with a bucket style seat.

Here is something you can do.

        We built everything form scratch.

I like his idea, andhe used a mobility scooter! I think Ill go with that. Anything quicker would probably get me into trouble with the cops around here. =/
