    2014 ALMS/GRAND-AM Classes Announced

    Cliff Notes:

No more P1 (Audi, Toyota, Porsche in 2014)

-DAYTONA Prototypes combine with LMP2 + Delta Wing
    -LMP Challenge separate class
    -ALMS GT2 separate Class
-Grand Am GT combines with ALMS GT Challenge for a separate class
-Possible GX class to be planned later as a 5th class or addition to the GT

I like the idea of the ALMS GT2 class cars being retained. Can't wait to see the Z4 GTE at Sebring in March, but hate the idea of losing P1. Still afraid of NASCAR running sports car racing in the US.

I'm really curious to see how they're going to even out the playing field with the combined LMP2 and DP cars. I wish they would do the same with the GT classes.

Grand Am comes to Road Atlanta in April, so it will be interesting to see how the lap times of the DP's compare to the P2 during Petit. For that matter, the ALMS GT2's might be close to the DP's in current form.
