    Smoking thread

General thread for tobacco lovers. What are you smoking?

I've really liked some cigars I've gotten from Cuba and when I was younger I was really into mini cigars or 'cigarellos'. A couple years ago I bought a bunch of old pipes at a random antiques shop and tonight I decided to finally pick up some tobacco.

So far I've decided that pipe smoking is more difficult, yet more rewarding than cigar smoking.

Any other cigar or pipe smokers on R3v?

I typically smoke 4-5 cigars a week. It's an expensive hobby, especially for a NYer. Just bought a wine cellar to convert into a wineador hoping it will hold about 100 or so sticks.

At the moment, I'm enjoying my last Liga Privada No.9

Big cigar smoker here, just finished up a JFR Titan maduro actually. Great stick for the dollar.

I've been waiting for this thread.

I use my pipe on occasion. Great stress relief for me. Also a good time to figure things out in my head.

Anything not artificially flavored for my briarwood pipe.

I don't light up that often anymore.

I'm getting more into cigars after smoking decent ones, or at least what I thought were decent ones.

What are some good ones I can get here in the states to start with? I love two fingers of bourbon with some whiskey stones and a decent cigar.

CAO, MX2 and LX2 are my favorite from them.
Macanudo makes a good medium bodied smoke.

Arturo Fuente is always a good bet, but the more expensive ones are very strong, the nicotine might be too much for a new smoker.
The Ortsac 1962 was my go to smoke for a while, It's pretty full bodied but it won't knock you on your ass.

I would avoid Anything by Gurhka. They have great marketing, but their smokes are overpriced, and they suck. Rocky Patel has some good ones too, but he makes so many different blends it's hard to keep track of whats good, so try at your own risk.

Also, all the Cuban hype you hear is just that, hype. There are good sticks from Cuba, but there are better ones from Nicaragua and Dom. Republic.

I smoke cheap cigars occasionally (black and milds, wine wood tips) and hookah pretty regularly.

Cigars (like whiskey, scotch and beer) have a bunch of different varieties and preference of one type over the other is purely subjective. If they're still doing it, Cigar.com had a monthly club deal where they send five sticks. Two good ones, two better ones and one premium, all delivered for $30. I did that for a while to get an idea of what I liked.

Oh man, I don't smoke cigs, but I had forgotten how good wine Black and Milds were! Haven't had one in about 2 months.
I smoke hookah occasionally, but not as much as I used to.
Usually when family friends are over and my father brings out 2 Shisha's or so.
