The better way to do it is to get a quality set of ball joints and press them in.
Pex is questionable unless youre just baggypantsing it until you can afford good ones

Dont throw away your original BMW control arms just cause the ball joints wear out!

I'm doing my 5 lugs swap and using M3 arms with E30 Meyle HD ball joints. Plus Harbor freight had a special and with 20% discount i got the press for $80. Plus i can use it for other bushings that i will need later, so all in all it's a good investment. Shop wanted to charge $30 a joint to press in/out.
