I love my G450X but its no daily rider (though i do it all the time)
I have actually been thinking of getting another DRZ for my daily bike and keep the G450X for offroad/hooligan rides/trackdays :up:Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Thats been my experience as well
Found a couple for $2500, but the motors were shot
When I bought mine I think I paid $3k for it, rode it for a year, and sold it for that. They are out there, just gotta look. But bear in mind too, offer any of these guys $500 less than their asking price and see what happens!
No affiliation to these bikes but just searched using craigshelper.com:

One of my riding buddys has a DRZ with over 35,000 miles of rode hard put away wet miles on it and the motor has never been touched other than oil changes.
In contrast, I replaced the timing chain on the Husky at 7,000 miles.
You just can't beat the value of a DRZ. Too small for me, but a great bike none the less.

The other thing to consider when looking at supermoto's is how much time are you willing to put into maintenance? Most of the the 450 class mx based bikes need maintained to a higher level to keep em going. Much more frequent intervals on everything, oil changes, air filter, valve adjustments, ect. Also including top end (piston, cylinder, ect) replacements in as little as 40 hours of ride time. You can sometimes push to 80hrs, but even this is not a whole lot actual miles. Whereas the drz's, 610's, and the likes. These bikes were designed from the get go to put on miles without all the hassle.

YES! I'm getting a supermoto next. I currently have a streetfighter ZZR600...love it, but I just moved back to LA and there are NO good roads meant for a sport bike like back in Texas.
A supermoto would do well out here! Probably gonna build a custom one out of a 400 or 450.1991 318is - Daily/weekend track car.
An on-ramp is a terrible thing to waste...

Nothing compared to the race bikes though.
Mine has 16,657 on it as of today, on it's second chain and it's only 6 clicks out ( at the last oil change ).
I'r read over at CafeHusky that the original chain may have been a bit soft causing the premature stretch, several examples of high mileage 610's over there tend to back this up.
Anyway see ya tomorrow.

For those interested in the husky 610, I highly recommend you check out these articles.

This is also one of the best sites when it comes to seeing inside pro-motorsports vehicles and the ways the pro's go about building a car. Will give you lots of ideas and inspiration. As well as showing the right and wrong way to do somethings.

Just proves that horsepower means so little in motorcycling.
Being a sport bike rider myself, what I hate is when the dumb ass on the super moto, passes me on the inside of a tight radius turn in the canyons. And does the same thing to two of my buddies. The dude got so close he grazed my feinds elbow. Crashing because of my own stupidity is one thing, going down because some guy thinks he is hot shit passing me on the inside. Not somthing I or my other sport bike riding freinds take lightly.:borg:
