    Insanity program

for us slightly older and more sedimentary lifestyle. Have any of you over 30's done this, stayed motivated to doing it or was it plan nuts. Or a waste of money.

Not buying it buddy said I could use his copy so thought why not this winter has been blah and I haven't had time for the gym with all the flying I have been doing.

don't even waste your money. it is retardedly hard to keep motivated with DVD workouts. I did the P90x for about a week and just lost interest... Its so boring.

Im in pretty good shape and like to workout, but i just found it was a chore to do..

what i recently did was join a crossfit class at a local gym.. there are various shapes and sizes of people in the class. you can go as hard as you want or as easy as you want... its a way better surrounding to keep you motivated, plus you will make some friends and challenge yourself to be stronger/faster...

my 2cents, its just to easy to quit at home.

My girlfriend and I do it Mondy-Thursday, then 4 mile run on Friday. Mind you, we are both full time students and work part time. It's all about determination. Having someone that does it with you helps

I fly for a living and tend to spend 17+ days a month on the road. Gym membership is a waste of money to me since I won't be home.

I bring a road bike with me a lot but when the trip is built to have only 17 hours off on most of the stops, makes it tough to stay motivated.

Insanity is high intensity, so if you are willing to go hard and stick with it, you should see results fairly quickly and hence (I assume) stay motivated to stick with the program. P90X is the other dvd workout, that a lot of people love.

What is your fitness level now? You could always start with some circuits at home, body weight stuff etc - or even the 300 workout might be worth considering.

Who do you fly for? My dad is a Captain for Fedex, so they put him up in hotels, internationally and domestic. That is where he gets his fitness on.

working out is a chore. Some people like it and some don't but you have to stick with it for the rest of your life otherwise you'll be right back to the start in no time. I hate working out but I do it everyday. Insanity is just HIT training.
High Intensity Training. You warm up , explode for a second, rest for a bit then hit repeat over and over. I just use a bike or treadmill. Sprint for 30 secs rest till you feel you can hold a convo easily then sprint for 30 keep repeating for a half hour to an hour. all about burning that fat and cals, compliment with actual lifting weights beforehand.

I just wanted to know if it's do able for a normal person. I'm not in as great shape as I used to be say 25 years ago. I'd like to shed a few pounds, as I am only 9 pounds heavier than I was at 20 and can still do my PT in well under USAF standards. They are weak.

I'm doing P90X right now, Insanity is a slightly more cardio intensive version of that with less overall weight and resistance training.

Honestly, I love it. It's aggressive, but if you stick to the plan and actually do the workouts, it gets results. Frankly, I *hate* cardio, so the resistance/weight days of P90x break up that a bit, whereas Insanity is almost all sweat every day.

It's not a rocket science plan, follow the meals, don't cheat, and budget an hour a day for the workout, results happen. The recipes are simple and high protein, and are actually pretty good. It's not boiled chicken breast and salad.

Swing wild, brake later, don't apologize.
