Afaik most of these folk leave for Florida during the winter months.

My car was in pretty early last fall, and it was parked between two pillars (old milking cow barn)
I have good vibes about this, I sure don't wanna start over despite its many, many, many flaws....

I have a complete 89 vert shell here at the shop. If it has damage we can sort it all out! Not to mention my uncle does body work and gorgeous paint. I am trying to find a silver lining.

Keep us updated, Sean aka Swanny told me tonight about this. Should have PM'd me bud!

35+ years! I just have a roll cage to weld in before he teaches me how to lay paint. I started body working my car summer of last year.

My bro in law left a few mins ago, I won't be heading. He'll likely snap some quality dslr pics with his circa 2007 Motorola flip phone.

                            BAM!

got the call, and he confirmed my car is totally fine.
collapsed on the east side of the barn, and I'm located on the extreme west...

the only concern is having the rest of the barn collapse, so they're removing all the vehicles once the firemarshal declaires the structure as "safe" to do so.

some Scarab boat is toast tho..yeeesh.

Those flip phones can make a prestine car look totaled.

That's great to hear, I had a scare like this back when that Tornado came through Tuscaloosa, AL back in April 2011. My car was at a one man shop getting the rear window sewn back in.

Right after the tornado came through it hit me. I HAD to go check on my car.
It was night by that time and I had no idea how bad the damage from the tornado was.

                                This was my path.

The area circled in red is Forest Lake, one of the worst hit areas in Tuscaloosa.

I hopped on my pitbike (me on the left):

And off I went. It took me probably an hour to get there, whereas if I was on my bicycle and there wasn't debris it would have taken me 5 minutes.
I had to constantly lift my bike over fallen trees I couldn't ride over, it was exhausting. No power anywhere so everyone was meandering outside in the streets. Power lines laying everywhere. It was intense.

This is all after I tried to call the guy and he never answered.

So I finally get to the shop and it looks fine from the outside, sigh.
I knock on the door repeatedly because I noticed that the owner's car was still at the shop. (this is approximately 9-10PM now)
After the third or fourth round of banging on the door I hear him yell something from in the back.
                                "I'm comin!" he says
After what seems like forever he opens the door.
And there stands my beautiful little angel, a gorgeous black man in his late 60's wearing nothing but his glasses, whitey tighteys, and some house slippers. (remember this "shop" is the size of a two to three car garage)
Dazed and confused he asks what I want and who I am.
I explain to him that I just came to check on my car, the only one in the shop.

He lets me in and all around my car is debris. One side of the building had been struck by a tree and somehow missed my car. The only thing touching my car is a few pieces of insulation.

After about 30 minutes of talking to this lovely man about why he is sleeping in his shop immediately after a huge tornado I depart. And as I'm leaving the shop I notice there is some broken glass on the ground, I look up and there is the owners car. He had used it to block the entrance to the shop and left it outside in the tornado instead of putting it inside and leaving my car outside. A Bavarian guardian angel. His car was demolished, no windows and limbs and gallons of water inside the car. I thanked him again and headed home.

                                An experience I'll never forget.

                                Cliffs:
                                - I thought my car was toast too
                                - Met a generous black man in lingerie
                                - Everything turned out ok in the end.
