I'm looking to get into a 1970's era BMW motorcycle. I'll be going to look at couple this week, is there anything i need to know, a good forum to gain some knowledge? Any help or personal experience would be greatly appreciated.
Beemers, learn me.

I had a couple back in the early 80's. I tried really hard to like them, but I went back to British twins (Norton Commando's). The build quality is what you would expect from BMW, German precision.sigpic

I've had a few - a r100gspd and a r1200gs, my dad had a r65 (that's the bike I learned how to ride on). Great fun, not super quick but that is what made them fun. For good, reliable, educated info you should have a look at http://www.advrider.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=85
There is a huge community, lots of aftermarket support and a lot of camaraderie. Have fun!Comment
