    8 Hour Diet- Anyone try this?

    It's interesting, the GF suggested I try this with her and I was like WTF? how am I suposed to survive only eating for 8 hours of the day?

    It's based on the principle that we as hunters and gatherers are supposed to eat only during the day when we are working and the busiest. After that it's time for us to relax and let our food settle and get ready for sleep in the evening.

    The first day was kinda harsh as I was expecting to be super hungry, but strangely, I felt a little light headed and wanted to just go to sleep since I wasnt' consuming any food (water and tea is ok).

    The following morning I was suprisingly not hungry and my body felt strangely quiet...like there wasn't anything going on inside my digestive system, and like I was in some kinda total calm state. I was also able to sleep less and feel more awake when I awoke. I was expecting to be so hungry I'd wanna eat a horse, but when I tried to eat lots, I felt like I was gonna puke.

    So after a couple days I went back to eating whenever I wanted, and I felt like crap again (how I usually felt I guess). But since I went back to it I'm feeling good! esp. since I dont' stink when I fart and I dont' feel as tired as I usually do during the day. Come 10 PM tho, and I don't even feel like stayin up to browse R3V or play video games.


    If it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!

    I also tried it for about a week...I had some pretty good results for the short time...it's very difficult to keep up with from a social perspective however. Drinking a beer out with the bros later in the evening was verboten, so eventually I ended up breaking out of it. I think it works though!

      I don't get it. You can only eat during an 8 hour span, once a day? Can you eat as much as you want? I generally do this on weekends; sleep late, forget to eat lunch, eat dinner, then go to bed.

          it's usually called intermittent fasting. It works when you stick to it. So does ketosis and other diets.

          Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

              It sounds like the opposite of the Baha'i fast. They eat a large, protein rich breakfast before the sun comes up and can't eat all day until it is dark again. Not sure about reasons why and other specifics but that is pretty much the gist of their deal.

                  Yeah what if you work and your lunch isnt till 1130? Can you just start your 8 hours at 1130 or does it have to be when you wake up?

                    Or here's a thought, howbout you have 4-5 meals a day including snacks, with reasonable sized portions so that you don't have to starve yourself? This is an easy way for your metabolism to slow down and start storing any food as fat.

                      I'm still a huge supporter of this method

                        I have drastically cut portion size, and began a fast 2 days a week. Also, started 6day/wk. cardio at the gym, to build up some stamina before I hit the weights and other equipment, been about 10 years since I've regularly worked out. I started this on Sat. 2nd, and I've dropped 23 lbs as of this afternoon. I'm trying to get back under 300lbs.

                            What does your cardio consist of? I just started walking/hiking trails as week and a half ago. I walk roughly about 6 miles a day, and on the weekends I hop on my trail bike and ride 10 miles. I also eat less then 2000 cals a day. No real results yet.

                              ^ I started on the elliptical because I have bad knees. First day was 5min, second was 7.5min, third was 12min, fourth was 15min, and the last 4 have been 25min. I'm also taking one day off any working out. Just until I get some level of endurance back.

                              Calories are also way below previous intake, I assume I'm in the 1400-1750 range. Sundays are a cheat day. Only one cheat meal though, not all day. Tons of water, also doing the diatomaceous earth and bentonite clay as well.
