So, the snow was kind enough to break the windshield on my M3. YAY.
Not really. While I was out Roving, being master of the frozen white stuff, it was getting me back by putting a 1' long crack across my windscreen.
So, one to quotes to put in the glass.
Place that does them for where I work wants like $250.
Safelight wants like $279.
Dealer, for just the glass, is $300.
Now, to my question, I already know the place we get glass from at work doesn't use OE glass. Safelight states on their site OEM, or OEE glass. I asked them what brand glass (Saint Gobain is OEM) but they continued to tell me about their training and use of OEE glass and their lifetime warranty, etc, etc.
From searching, I don't want Pilkington (sp?) glass. I've read that aftermarket glass is thinner, won't seal right, etc. I know they have a lifetime warranty, but leaks aren't just affecting the glass, it's about water getting into places and rust, electrics, etc.
Pretty sure insurance won't cover it, I've got comp with $500 deduct thru State Farm. They told me to price shit out and call them, and even suggested OEM glass for such a "high end car".
Anyone know what brand Safelight uses?
Am I over thinking this?
Am I correct in wanting the little roundel in the bottom, left of my windscreen?
