    Sister's Jeep

Well this past weekend was nuts....I went to raleigh to pick up my new seat and I had to go back to boone before I thought I would have to. My sister passed out (not fell asleep) while driving. It has happened before but never while she was driving. The doctors never took it serious untill this just happended so hopefully now we can find out whats going on. She t-boned a car but it was parked so nobody was hurt. If someone had been in the other car they prob would be dead if not really bad off. My sister is fine...I guess cause she was unconscience she was not hurt...not to mention she was not going very fast. The airbags didn't go off. Does anyone know what speed you have to go for a 98' laredo's air bag to deploy and possibly proof? The subaru she t'ed is prob totalled but her car is supprisingly ok....here are some pics of her car:

her suspension seems to be fine...the allignment is wayyyy off...and I think the freakin tow truck people messed up her 4wd

I was able to drive it back to her appartment yesterday

4wd Is probably damaged unless the tow people followed the specific tow instructions.

Most modern systems measure deflection of the unibody to trigger the airbag instead of potentiometers. They decided that potentiometers were a poor judge of the magnatude of the impact.
      Im now E30less.

i'll try to find a pic of her...yeah I don't care about her Jeep, I'm just glad she's fine. Its really amazing that even though it was so bad and potentially deadly she is perfectly ok. Her car is a beast.

yeah those jeeps are pretty buff. my buddy wasnt paying attention and clobbered a parked integra. the damage to his jeep looked JUST LIKE that, and the integra was total loss.

speaking of integras a friend of mine in raleigh ran over one in a heavy duty f350 diesel. He thought he hit the curb. Just rolled right over the front of it as it cut to his right from behnd him as he was pulling into the turn lane. just crunched in integra into the ground not a mark on the truck.

I can tell you it takes more than ~20 from behind. Our 93 was rear-ended twice at around that speed and nothing ever went off. There is actually a shock back there that will absorb the impact (much like the bumper shocks on e30s i suppose) and both times the frame was damaged behind where the shock mounts.
                    Old and improved:

My neighbor got rear ended in his chevy 2500 pickup. It was a honda, the honda knocked off his trailer hitch, didn't even damage the frame or anything else and completely messed up the front end of the honda. It even split the radiator enough for it to start spewing antifreeze everywhere.

I know the towing people would have to pay for the 4wd but isn't it like $3,500+? even w/ the little damage other than that I might be totalled right? Isn't it only like 1/3 or 1/4 of the value to totall a car?
