I grabed these nice tower speakers from my dad with an old harmon kardon reciever. I hook it all up and now im getting fuzz from the right speaker tower. there are 4 speakers within the tower and they all have fuzz. Its strange though, its NOT volume dependant, it comes on randomly, it can go away by powering the reciever on and off. I checked the connections inside the tower and I cant find what sets off the fuzz. I checked the wiring (monster wire 16g) and it was good. I tried a different speaker slot on the reciever and its still there. Would there be a main ground in the speaker that is fucked? Anyone good with speaker/home entertainment that could help me trouble shoot?

Terminals used to connec tower to the wire to the receiver on the back of the towers. Clean up those terminals and retry.

Originally posted by StereoInstaller1Bad reciever is easy to test...swap sides of output...if the noise follows, bad reciever.
