He designed "the thing" not the beetle I believe.

My friend has a cleeeeaaaan near-stock '66 bug; it's wonderful.

Said-AZ car would look great with paint and that # sticker removed.

Second car in OP's post is winning IMO.
        Different strokes for different folks.

Don't think he designed either, but he was the one responsible for getting the Bug made.

I would rather be driving a beige camry with the camry dent then be caught dead in a vw bug.

The first one you posted with the shiny paint...that is 10k plus all day. I would gladly fork out 12k if the interior and engine was up to date.

The bug is one of my dream cars, but I cannot find one locally for a good price.

Now at the hipster comment, stfu. It is getting old hearing that on here. That Bug is one sexy rat rod! Judging a car by the paint is stupid. If it was shiny you would like it no? It would look the same as the other one if it had nice paint.

His ad is well wrote, clean detailed pictures. Ride height looks fantastic, runs well from what the Ad says. Said will take a reasonable offer and only wants it to go to a good home. That tells me he cares about it and takes pride in his stuff. He is an enthusiast.
Oh yeah I understand that a CLEAN bug is upwards of 7K...I've checked. However, thinking that having that price as being a "reasonable" sell price is insane. I'm not just looking at the "paint" which there is practically none left but a nice thick layer of rust which works the same way as cancer does for metal. So if you leave that rust untreated, you will have patches of metal slowly being chipped away that'll be costly later down the road to fix/replace if it can even be done. Not to mention it looks like pure shit. I am also looking at the "sound system" that is merely a shitty box chilling in the back window. I'm also looking at the extremely tacky additions that look like someone with absolutely no experience with fabrication or installing electronic equipment of any nature attempted to install. Also, I'm looking at the "stance" of the car. Especially for Phoenix, which happen to love EXTREME speed bumps, ask everyone who's had some input in this thread from this area. That car is like walking on egg shells instead of purely enjoying the ride.

Thank you, couldn't have said it better myself. And I have found nicer also at about 1/3 the cost.

                      I call your bullshit!
I will pay you $600 if you find a 60s model beetle, with a good floor pan and drivable for the money you claim.
