Disney Uses The Force: New ‘Star Wars’ Movies Annually Starting in 2015

I have mixed feelings about this... I hope they dont further destroy the Star Wars Movies like they did 1-3. Excited to see the trailers for sure.

If you're the kind of fan who can't get enough "Star Wars," Disney has just made the announcement you've been dreaming of.
In a presentation Wednesday at CinemaCon, the annual meeting of the National Theater Owners Association, Disney representatives unveiled some big plans for the "Star Wars" franchise after purchasing Lucasfilm for $4 billion. While it's well known that "Star Wars: Episode VII" is in the works and poised for release in the summer of 2015, Disney is saying after that, fans can expect a new "Star Wars" movie every summer for at least five years, with installments in the official series alternating with stand-alone films that will focus on well-loved characters in the "Star Wars" universe.

From what I've heard, Lucas already wrote the storyline for the movies, but Disney decided to not use it. I just don't feel like Disney will pull off making ones that are true to the series

I'm excited that Star Wars will continue on, but skeptical that it'll blow balls.

I remember when star wars opened, I was in the fifth grade and it was literally and actually the coolest thing I ever saw in my life (until I saw an f1 race in person). Anyways Disney will never recapture that, but Lucas was just too slow... I look forward to going to all these.
I can't wait to see some young Han and Chewy stuff.

I look forward to a more star wars, but hopefully they wont be horrible just because Disney is producing it. They do attract younger viewers so hopefully it is still mickey mouse less

I'm not sure why everyone is hating so hard on Disney. Apparently we've forgotten how many extremely good movies they've been churning out as of late? Not just kid stuff. Obviously Pixar movies are ultimately children's movies but I think it's fair to say that almost all of them are also just good movies. They've been branching out into more mainstream stuff too as of late, like The Avengers. I think if any studio has a good chance of doing this right, Disney would be right up there.

Patton Oswalt already threw out some of his ideas.

It's just a cash cow to everyone connected to the original films. Nothing will ever come close, but every effort will surely make boatloads of cash, which is the only reason that any starwars film was made after the first three.

I will inevitably see them and be disappointed, but I'm not the target audience anymore anyway, kids are, so who cares.
