Haha I forgt to mention that soccer doesn't have/use replay videos to determine things like other sports.
There has been a few mobs and refs getting killed after games from fanatical fans because of it.

Obvious Handball, kick in the groin, finger up the ass on a corner kick, shirt pulling, obvious offsides... if the ref doesn't see it, it passes.

i was just at the mexico vs peru game last night at candlestick.
every time the ref got something wrong people blew their lid.
its my favorite sport, i love the passion and the beauty of the game but diving really takes away from it

the only reason i have heard with some regularity from people that do not like soccer is the diving

Diving is a big part, but also the fact that even when they legitimately get hurt, like kicked in the shin, they roll around crying like a bunch of 10 year olds. Then there's the fact that you can play an entire game and score 1 time. 1 point. Most people dont wanna spend 2 hours watching a bunch of crying guys running around with 3 minutes of exciting action, and have a game end 1-0.
