I come from a background of EDM, Triphop, and all electro-music.
Lately (well, for 12+ years), I've been heavy into drum n' bass/jungle/drumstep vinyl...has litterally made me broke buying records as of late.
I've been slowing down in spinning (dj'ing) and have found a whole new world of downtempo/chillout beats to play around with.
Thus far, Wax-Tailor (from France) is my fav...he uses A-LOT of old samples/loops stemming from old 1930's movies to some James Brown queues.
Gramatik is also up there...same genre as Wax, just less "samply"
Check them out when you have a chance, if you're into that kinda thing.
thoughts?
