Just to clarify...I think he means the Miata Superlight or whatever it's called. I don't think normal Miatas have hood-mounted rear-view mirrors. :p

I really want to get in on this challenge, but I don't know if I'm going to have the time :'(

So I have come to the conclusion that a small car is best. I have tried the RX7 making the Skylines RWD and so on. The small cars are best. Sadly the track is about the same speed forwards or backwards. You do get to the top of the hill faster in the reverse run.

I really like this course - it requires setups and driving completely different from any other track in the game. I had to try an s2000, since its my DD. Sadly, it has no torque and uphill sucks. This thing kills downhill though. I have a couple other builds in mind though.

Are those the only high powered cars you tried? The skylines and rx-7s have really peaky power curves, sort of like the s2000. A car with more torque would probably be faster on the uphill. I'm not sure what managing the weight would be like going downhill though...

It would be fun if I had unlimited time in my week. With a track like Mugello I could spend 10 minutes on a good series. While that's just a lap in this situation. So instead of fun it becomes frustrating when I tap a guardrail and woops, there goes 9 1/2 minutes of my life. I'm excited to see what the winner will come up with next week.

I'm having the same problem. I have only been able to do standing-start laps with each car so far because I can't take the time to string together a clean flying lap. Also, sorry for being so lame about updating standings. Fixed now.

I definitely know how you feel. I was able to get a half an hour in. This is the only clean lap I got. I was going to propose allowing dirty laps for this course, since you can't exactly cut any corners. Since it seems like a number of people are doing standing laps any ways, I wonder if the winner would be interested in doing a section of one of the big courses.

So I can get similar power number from the little cars and a lot less weight.
I have the Good RX7 and it feels large and cumbersome on the narrow road. I have to brake so early....
                  Small FTW
What I ussed as my bench mark is the suggested line assist. I know its not always accurate but it can be. In the 510 it was green in places where the RX was full brakes... ANd then just the simple width of the car made some items easier. It seems as though if you get off line the car understeers pretty drastically.

So I had time for only two laps in the 240Z (260Z?) and ended up with this:

                    9:02.836

I'm sure I could shave the rest off either with that or another car, but I don't think I'll have the chance to try.
