We need to make this happen.
I'm not crazy about it, rubs me the wrong way.
Don't care if I swear or not, but more and more loosing the r3v-ness of r3v and what makes it better than the big forums.1985 M10b18. 70maybewhpoffury. Over engineered S50b30 murica BBQ swap in progress.

Seriously for google adds? A site does not take that much money to run. I'd rather people act and do as they please so I know who I am dealing with. I don't give a damn if people swear it shows me what kind of character they are.
What is this sites overhead? Why isn't there a paypal donate button visible on every page.
Bow down and bend over for google NWO. That's right you can say **** at a boston game live on national TV, but you can't cuss about some rusty bolts, stripped threads, or a stubborn wheel bearing.Comment

I agree 100%, the issue is sadly down to money.I couldn't agree more Sleeve. Total bull****.
I'm torn. Like most other folks around here I genuinely appreciate the effort that James and the crew do to facilitate this forum and also make it a point to patronize forum sponsors whenever I can. That being said, revising r3v's language policies for the purposes of appeasing power hungry, bossy douchebags really rubs me the wrong way.
I helped found a new company which has caused me to take a huge financial hit, and with that I had to make adjustments to just about everything I do, I lost a private contract I had for many years, and with Google crashing I am making damn near half what I used to.
I paid for this site out of my pocket for nearly 80% of its time on the internet (once I took it over) and with Google I was able to keep the site online, upgraded, and pay back to the community with the R3VLimited Party.
I'm not a fan of what Google is doing, nor with how they interact with us during these policy violations... Its usually just a SORRY YOU ARE VIOLATING POLICY UNTIL YOU FIX IT.. We don't know what IT is, so I had to read the policy again and make a few changes.
We will adjust the filter to have it saw WAFFLES or something else, but please, lets keep this professional, keep this about community, and keep standing for who we are, just without the typical F this or F that we normally do.

We own our own servers, all our licensing, software, time to maintain / update it, etc.Seriously for google adds? A site does not take that much money to run. I don't take donations because I don't ask for donations. This is not a charity case... External funding is how I want this to work..

Take a look at the bottom of the forum and notice that something is missing.... Google has cut off our advertising due to an apparent policy violation. So remember when the porn got removed? Well this is going abouts the same lines. James really should chime in on this, since he is site owner. I only help to try to keep things running smoothly... Plus i do love this site and members. Google has seen something that goes aginst their policys and i don't know what it is? We found out about it this moring. This may seem like a "knee jerk" reaction. But i hope everyone understands. Anyways looking at their guidelines, cussing was one of them. So instead of going after members that cuss up a storm. It is better on our behalf to censor some words. It would take too much time and be hard to go through the whole forum to see who is the ones taking it to far. Yes i've cussed on here, pretty much everyone does. But like an adult, i can control myself. So how about anyone else. Can you keep yourself under control?I'm calling BS on Google. I have ads running on my website and YouTube channel and there is cussing. Also... I use AdBlock so I never see em on this site. lolHonsetly i don't know, google said we where still violating the rules. James said to look for "Members who are cussing up a storm, racist comments, naked photos, and other stuff needs to be adjusted and removed". So i filtered a few words and took out a couple of threads. It could always be reversed if these weren't the problems. But for now, there are a few filtered words, if this turns out not to be the core problem, they can be unfiltered. And it could be worse. I'm on a scale model car forum where the word "crap" is filtered LOL.
And in all honesty, i am pretty laid back and don't really want to see anyone turned into a :borg:
A solution could be to set the word filtering on for only bot accounts and guests, then having the option for registered users to turn on or off the word filtering via their preference.Comment

Google doesn't like freedom of speech, it's not just websites and swearing they are after. I maintain a few websites, one of them happens to be for a church. The stuff you will have to do in the next few years to maintain 501(c)(3) status is rediculous. Big Bro's popping roids these days. It is unfortunate that google currently has near monopoly on the ad market.
If you want to enjoy some further reading about the GNWO ~ Larry Page CEO of google talks about how he wants to build a new world that he controls. Real dark tyrant garbage, always the same throughout history. Like Abe said "if you want to test a man give him power" obvious Abe would drive an E30.

What if some don't see it as a charity case, but, rather, a chance to give back to the best online community that they really love and enjoy (hint, hint...I'd be willing to donate...as I'm sure many others would too.)
